Foster care has defined Tessa’s life, but at seventeen years old, she only has one year left in the system before she ages out, loses state funding, and has to make her own way in the world. In this final year, she needs to make connections that will help her navigate adulthood. When Tessa arrives at a new foster home and is placed in the care of Whipple, she’s faced with something she’s never encountered before: a group of people who won’t let her push them away. F-Word is a coming-of-age story straight from the sardonic mind of a teenager racing toward adulthood and explores the challenges of accepting unconditional love when you’ve never seen or experienced it before.
