Since 2009, the Community Cleanup has mobilized residents and businesses across the City of Grand Rapids through coordinated neighborhood cleanup districts citywide.
In 2025, nearly 1,000 volunteers participated and 50+ businesses sponsored, donated, or volunteered.
In 2026, the event expands to two cleanup days — Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2 — each followed by a volunteer appreciation event. Volunteers will once again unite across multiple Grand Rapids districts for this city-wide effort focused on strengthening neighborhoods and building community pride. The 2025 cleanup highlights are featured above.
