Jec has trained and competed through FEI levels in Dressage, Western Dressage, long distance trail riding, Ride & Tie, breed shows and many other disciplines. She won three consecutive East Coast championships in distance riding, becoming the youngest rider in history to win the prestigious Vermont 100–Mile Competition.
Jec studied classical training in Portugal, Holland, Germany, Australia, Spain, with world-renown trainers Egon von Neindorff and Manolo Mendez.
