Fast Forward: YouthBeat's 15 Year Celebration!

YouthBeat trains and mentors Oakland youth—especially those attending under-resourced public schools—in filmmaking, animation, and digital media. Our students learn industry-level skills, gain confidence, and go on to college and careers in creative fields. Most importantly, they’re given a platform to tell their stories, shape their futures, and be seen.

Over the past 15 years, we’ve supported 3,000+ Oakland students reach for their dreams in media– and this year is especially exciting, as after 15 years of fiscal sponsorship we’ve just become an independent 501(c)(3) organization– ready to expand our impact even further.

Our anniversary event will bring together 125+ Oaklanders, including civic leaders, educators, creative professionals, and corporate partners, to celebrate our students’ film and animation work—and to invest in the next generation of storytellers and changemakers.
