Empowering Youth through Connection, Education, and Wellness
Is your child navigating the challenges of PTSI, anxiety, depression, or POTS? Join the National Institute of Canine Service and Training (NICST) for an inspiring, hands-on day at our Love on Leashes Kids Camp. This program is specially designed for youth (ages 18 and under) and their families to explore the life-changing world of Medical Alert Service Dogs.
Participants must live within a three-hour radius of our Concord Ca facility.
This isn't just a day at camp—it’s an introduction to a new path of support. Our curriculum blends professional emotional wellness with the practical magic of a service dog partnership:
Expert Guidance: Participate in sessions led by a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), focusing on emotional wellness and how a service dog can help mitigate symptoms of chronic conditions.
Meet the Dogs: Get up close with our Medical Alert Service Dogs, including our beautiful Lab/Golden crosses. Watch live demonstrations of how these highly trained companions sense changes in their handlers and provide critical alerts.
The Path to Placement: Learn exactly what it takes to become a client and how a service dog can become a permanent part of your child’s health management team.
Engagement & Fun: From "signature wags" to interactive education, the day is filled with activities designed to build confidence and community.
Date: June 13
Time: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Requirements: This is a family-centered event. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the camp.
Cost: "Free"
We look forward to a meaningful day of discovery and fun! Space is limited to ensure a supportive environment for all participants.
